An Election Judge serves as a poll worker during an election. They have many responsibilities, such as: greeting and checking in voters, issuing the correct ballots, and assisting voters in completing their ballot.
Kent County is currently understaffed for election judges for the upcoming 2026 election and could really use your help!

Who can become an Election Judge?
Requirements to become an election judge are simply:
- Maryland resident
- Age 16+
- Registered to vote
When do Election Judges work?
Most Election Judges work any of the days during early voting and Election Day for both Primary and General elections. A work day starts early, around 6am, until polls close at 8pm and then clean up. You pick which days you’re available to work and the Board of Elections will schedule you where possible.

How do I become an Election Judge?
Election Judges are employed by the county Board of Elections. Kent County Voter Integrity Group works to recruit interested applicants on their behalf.
